A Sweet & Happy Irony This Time...
Last year, Jon & I just happened to be visiting my grandmother when this pretty lady here, Kentucky Sunshine (pic from 2007), went into labor and had a darling red & white-spotted foal... We literally watched a baby being born, stand up (albeit clumsily), nurse, and begin a new life -- all so quickly! It's really such an amazing thing to witness, I must admit. God is truly an artist...
Well, last night, we all ate dinner at my parents' house and, when my grandmother got home, she called us to say a brand-new baby girl was waiting for her when she got back -- had just been born... and guess who the lucky mother was? Yep, Kentucky Sunshine!!! Of course we ran right over to see the new baby girl!
A beautiful, healthy, & strong sorrel filly, brand-new to the world, makes this a sweet irony this time! Ahhh, finally...

How ironic. A friend of mine's mare just had a foal yesterday. But it had brain damage and they had to put it down. She is devastated.
One life begins. Another ends.
Oh, how sad! Believe me, we have had our share of heartbreaks and sad stories -- especially this year...
It can be so inspiring, yet also heartbreaking...
she couldn't even be there when the vet did it or when her husband buried it.... she's as big an animal as you...=(
