New Toy!!!

Much to my delight, Jon gave me a new scanner for my birthday -- it's a lovely & tiny little gadget, just perfect for me. See, the love of photographs has been a lifelong thing for me, not just since the invent of the digital camera (though that has certainly exacerbated the obsession)... Basically, I just had a lot of old 35mm prints that I wanted scanned in, and my prehistoric monster of a scanner just wasn't doing the trick any longer...

So here are just a few of the prints I dug up and scanned in on the inaugural night of new scanner use. I'm sure there will be more to come (of course):

F-ed Up. Literally.

Apparently, the YOUNGEST MOTHER on record -- I kid you not -- was a 5-year old Peruvian girl. (don't even bother asking what prompted me to start hunting for this tidbit of information in the first place!) Worse yet, as Jon pointed out, someone had to be having sex with this poor little girl when she was only 4 for this freak of nature to even be discovered!!!

Am I Awry?

A trashy tabloid savant like myself should be eating up the Academy Awards, shouldn't I? I'm trying (why, I don't know), but they just aren't doing all that much for me... Maybe when they do the obligatory "death montage" at the end, the weepiness will kick in. Honestly (and quite sadly), I think maybe it's not gossipy & trashy enough for my taste. Ha!!!

He's a keeper...

My sweet boyfriend sent me some pretty pink tulips for Valentine's Day. He was bummed they weren't roses, but apparently he wasn't aware that I would prefer tulips over roses any day of the week. And twice on Sunday.

He also won BIG points last night for stopping by the drugstore and buying me some tampons before going with me to eat dinner with my parents and grandmother on Valentine's. Romantic, eh? ;)

whining & bitching & moaning.

I went the doctor today for just all-around-feeling-like-shit and as I was leaving, I absolutely lost it. I mean, LOST IT. All of that not-crying I had been concerned about doing (or not doing, as the case may be) was more than made up for today... and for absolutely NO plausible explanation or reason!!! I mean, really. It was just a sudden flood of shitty feelings, and they totally overwhelmed me, leaving me in a sobbing mess. It was PMS x 10. That's the best way I can explain it. All is fine & dandy now, so WTF??? (Don't worry, I'm not the next Britney, I swear.)

In other news, yet another birthday came & went. You know, they're not even fun anymore. Not only do you catch so much shit when you turn 30 (which was LAST year, btw) with all the people who think they are clever with their cliche' little remarks (I'm such a bitch), but now I'm just "in-my-30's". How fucking boring. And frightening. Waaaaahhhhh!!! Where does all the time go? *sniff, sniff*

Mom got us a suite at the Silver Star for my birthday, so Jon & I went up there and gambled too little, ate too much, and slept too long -- and oh man, was it niiiiice!!! I came away $5 richer, I'm proud. Sad, I know. Unfortunately [or perhaps fortunately], the only picture I took was of our view of the sunset over the Dancing Rabbit driving range:

It rained & stormed HARD here this afternoon -- there were tornado warnings, sirens blaring, downed trees & power lines, & hard, hard rain... I must admit, I really kind of underestimated this one:

Rapper Juvenile was arrested in Meridian, Miss. today for possession of under an ounce of marijuana.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department tells TMZ he was in a car pulled over for expired tags, though it was unclear whether or not he was the one driving. He was booked and released at 2:12 PM ET.

No word yet on when his next appearance will be. Calls to Juvenile's reps were not immediately returned.

I'm FAT, and it's Tuesday... So there you go.

Seriously though, I wore my green & purple beads at work today with my gold silk blouse -- I was a team player.... If I were actually IN New Orleans, well, that would be an entirely different story, I'm sure...

Been there, done that, though.... Now I'm old, I guess. A fuddy-duddy! ;)

Lots of things been happening, leaving little time for updates, sorry! They're probably gonna be coming in random spurts here & there... But I'm still alive & kicking, despite what you may read... :)
